The Project
Genre: Suspense/ Mystery/ Adventure
The setting for this book took place in present day Irshwood Iowa , and in the 1940's Germany.
The Main characters in this book are Luke and Tommy who are teenagers and best friends, Ms. Sheck their school librarian, and Mr. Mueller a German millionaire who collects books.. Luke used to live in New Zealand but moved to Iowa because of his dads job and is one of those people who loves to cause trouble. Tommy is from Iowa he can speak German and his dad is a lawyer and they are rich and because of that every time Tommy would get in trouble he would talk his way out of getting busted. Luke also has a gift of having a photo graphic memory and could remember almost everything he sees. The boys were helping Ms. Sheck at the school library moving books from the basement when they discovered a rare book called Leonardo's River known to be the most boring book. Whats even more surprising is the secret that's hidden inside its pages. The Germans were looking for the book and kidnapped Ms. Sheck. Before you know it Luke and Tommy are the only ones who can save her and they get involved in a plot that travels back in time and can change the outcome of WWII.
In my opinion I thought this book started out great and kept me interested but towards the end it became a little boring because the suspense was dragged out little to long. The most exciting part of the book was when Luke was arrested and was being interrogated by the police and he was able to trick them by using his photographic memory and get the cops all mad.
I would suggest this book for people who like to read mysteries with a little humor along with some historical facts that are very interesting.
