The Ascension by Michael Carroll - In The Ascension Lance, Thunder, Abby, and Roz face a new challenge after barely defeating the fifth king, krodin in the past book. Three weeks later after they have defeated krodin, they return to a new America where it is ruled by the Helotry. It seems that they have not fully defeated the fifth king, now they must find new allies to finally rid of this evil. They discover more to there superpowers and use it against the Helotry. The Ascension would most likely be suitable for people who like sci-fi, action, and super hero novels.
Super Human by Michael Carroll - Super Human is perfect for people who likes action, sci-fi, and super hero books. The setting takes place in an alternate version of earth where unusually empowered humans have come to be a normal thing. Heroes eventually step out of the crowd, but when there are heroes there are also villains. In the book, A secret cult called the Helotry has unleashed a virus across the globe that only targets people over eighteen, and as the adults become sick, the children are left to either turn against civilization or hide from the chaos. The world’s greatest heroes also become infected and unable of doing anything to stop them. The Helotry takes advantage of this and tries bring back the long dead krodin, and it’s up to four kids, Lance, Thunder, Abby, and Roz, to stop them. My Favorite part was when they tried to stop krodin from escaping the lab where they brought him back from. Zeitoun by Dave Eggers - Very interesting book about a persons experience during hurricane katrina.
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand - This was an exciting book about a Olympic runner's unbelievable adventure in world war II, A+ book. 451 Fahrenheit by Ray Bradbury - Great book about a futuristic fireman that starts fires rather than putting them out. Halo: The Flood by William C. Dietz - This book is about spartan 117 who leads troops in a brutal battle to find the halo's darkest secrets, very exciting and ongoing action book. Super Human by Micheal Carrol - The book is about a group of teenagers who set out to save the world from the helotry virus. 451 Fahrenheit by Ray Bradbury - Guy Montag is a third-generation fireman who suddenly realizes the emptiness of his life and starts to search for meaning in the books he is supposed to be burning. This story takes place in a futuristic city where people don't read books and Firemen start fires to burn the books rather than putting them out. I would recommend this book to people who like reading science fiction books. |
