This book is a scince fiction graphic novel by Kurt Busike. This kind of book is for those who like comic books. All people who like comic books will like this because it has all characters from both Marvel and DC univers. JLA Avengers takes place in an array of places, some real and some not. Some include New york, Metrotolis, Asgaard, Paradise Island, and outer space. The time is 2004 and Krona, the bad guy and main character of the story besides the Grandmaster, is trying to find the truth of creation. His nemesis is the Grandmaster from the Marvel Universe. They agree to play a game. If Krona wins, the Grandmaster will lead him to Galactus who has witnessed the creation. If Krona loses, he will spare the Marvel Universe. To save the universe, the Justice League must gather twelve special artifacts having mystical powers. In a clever move, Krona switches champions. The Avenger’s, the Grandmaster’s life long enemies, will represent Krona. The Justice League from Krona’s home universe will represent the Grandmaster. The Avengers are not told that if they win their universe will be destroyed. Batman and Captain America make a truce to find out the real story of what is going on between Krona and the Grandmaster. They both suspect that something is wrong. Meanwhile, the two teams are continually fighting each other to get the special artifacts to win. With the two universes merging, reality is altered and the two teams of super heroes become allies and eventually fight every villain each team has ever fought. They win and the two universes return to normal. Krona implodes and becomes a "cosmic egg" imprisoned in the JLA Watchtower. When he hatches he will learn the secrets of creation because he will be part of it.In the end, the reader learns that the "game" was really arranged between the Grandmaster and Metron, Grandmaster’s counter-part in the DC Universe. Krona was really only a pawn of both of them.

He is forced out of the organization but has loyal friends on the inside. He sets a trap to catch the mole. How he does it is genius and the great intrigue of the story. Seal Team Six - By: Howard E. Wasdin & Stephen TemplinSeal Team Six is the best of the best. When there’s an impossible job to be done, it is called on to do it, such as killing Osama Bin Laden. This book is the memoirs of one recruit from his childhood to one of the greatest snipers alive. It is rich in detail of how this elite organization really works. A Long Way From Chicago - By: Richard Peckbrother and sister spend each summer with their grandmother and experience new adventures with her each year. Covering 7 years, the brother and sister learn how trulysmart their grandmother is. Outwardly she is tough and seems unloving, but they come to learn that her grandchildren are the most important thing in her life. Justice Vol: 3 - By: Jim KruegerSuperheros Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman battle supervillains Lex Luthor, Joker, Brainiac, and Riddler. Joker discovers the secrets of each superhero’s weakness and sell the information to Lex Luthor. Luthor creates a toxin uniquely effective against each hero. The battle against evil rages. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen next, it doesn’t. Surprises are a constant and the action is fast paced. JLA Avengers - By: Kurt BusiekThis book I iked a lot because it had all my favorite superheros from the Marvel and DC Universes. In the beginning, all the heros fight because each one thinks the other one is the enemy. But in the end they have to work together to take down the real enemy Krona who wants to destory both universes. Trinity - By: Kurt BusiekI loved this book because it has many different settings. This book is about a conspiracy to take away Superman's, Batman's, and Wonder Woman's superpowers. The people behind this are Morgaine Le Fey, Enigma who is realy the Riddler from anthor earth, and Despero. Batman Versus Bane - By: Chuck DixonUnlike the title says this is realy a book about Bane's life and his origins up until now. I liked this book a lot because I learned a lot of things about Bane I did not know before. Zeitoun-By Dave Eggers this book is about a man face the harsh challenges that Hurrican Katrina has to bring. I liked this because it kept pulling me I didnt want to stop reading, it was just so suspenseful. It was also very interesting to know what people had to go through in that storm if you didnt know already.Dr. Halsey's Journal- By Bungie Co. this book is based of the video game Halo: Reach it tells of how the woman Dr Halsey made and designed a spartan/soldier that are more advanced and aren't scared of anything. It also tells of how she built ana AI that had all her thoughts. I liked it mostly because it was based off of my favorite game but also cause the game doesnt say much about how she created all those thing it was a good backround book. The Devil In The White City-By Erik Larson this a serial killer brings his victums in the Chicago Fair of 1893 and kills them. What I liked about it was that is was very suspenseful and i just could not stop reading this historical book. The Fire Eternal-By Chris D'Lacey this is a sequel to the fire within, ice fire, and fire star. I like this book because of how it is with dragons and spirits and the main character David has to have his daughter help him because she is the key to save everyone and everything.Seal Team Six-By Howard E. Wasdin what I like mostly about this book is that it has the backround of one man who is one of the best snipers and just to know what him and his friends had to go through and how everything is works of the highest elite force. |
