The Daughters is a realistic fiction, young adults, and a contemporary book. Based in New York City, Lizzie Summers is the daughter of Katia Summers who is a supermodel and Bernard Summers who is a journalist. She had red frizzy hair, thick eyebrows, buggy eyes, a confused nose, full lips, and broad knuckles. Her friends were Carina Jurgensen and Hudson Jones. Carina Jurgensen is the daughter of Karl Jurgensen, a billionaire of Metronome Media. Hudson Jones is the daughter of Holla Jones, a chart-topping pop icon. Lizzie learns to accept herself as who she is throughout the story. Struggling with her school life and her outside life, Lizzie Summers wasn't an ordinary child. After an incident with her mother, Lizzie was approached by a fashion photographer who thought that she was the new face of beauty. Expecting fans and the media to adore her mother, Lizzie was never fond of the medias. When she unexpectedly agrees, she was the one who was captured with attention by the media's spotlight. After in the modeling business, Lizzie decided that modeling wasn't her thing and that she wanted to be herself, not like her mother. I would recommend this book to teens who love young adult books. People who want to read a book about teens with famous parents and their lifestyle in a realistic fiction novel would read this book. This is the first book of the series the Daughters. "They didn't ask for fame. They were born with it."
