Fahrenheit 451 is a very interesting science fiction book. This book is set in a world where any and all books are to be burned by firemen who now set fires instead of putting them out. Guy Montag is one of these firemen who, after a series of events, begins to question the current system and tries to figure out for himself what is right or wrong. One interesting part of the book is near when Montag and other firemen respond to a call at an old woman’s house which is filled with books and Montag can’t do anything as the lady chooses to stay behind in the building with all the books as it is about to be burned down. I would recommend this book to any fan of science fiction or serious type book. It was very fun to read and has become one of my favorite books.
The Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers is a fantasy book set in the world of Middle Earth, where the hobbit known as Frodo Baggins and his friend Samwise Gamgee are entrusted to bring the One Ring to Mount Doom in Mordor in order to destroy it before the Dark Lord Sauron can unleash his armies to take over all of Middle Earth. Frodo and Sam were two hobbits from the Shire, the home of the hobbits, where they were entrusted by the wizard Gandalf to bring the One Ring to Mordor to destroy, the second book in the series The Two Towers details their journey towards Mordor after they are separated from their allies. My favorite part of the book was the Battle of Helms Deep which was the major battle of the book in which the forces of men fell back to the fortress of Helms Deep to fight the thousands of Orcs that descended upon the fort. As this being my favorite book series I would recommend this to anyone interested in fantasy or action. I've read books of different genres, but mainly ranging from fantasy to drama.
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher: I enjoyed this book very much, I would recommend this to fans of drama novels. Stoneheart by Charlie Fletcher: This fantasy book was very well done, and kept me interested to the end of this book. Dragonwings by Laurence Yep: This book is a very interesting view of Chinese-Americans in the early 1900s in San Francisco, and is an interesting read. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkein: With this being my favorite series, I have always been a huge fan of this series and genre. Halo: Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund: As a fan of the series I thought it was a good science fiction book Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden: As a true military story with drama i thought this was a very good book. Seal Team Six is a Non-Fiction book about a Navy Seal sniper named Howard E. Wasdin in Seal Team Six, a secret unit tasked with counter-terrorism hostage rescue, and counter insurgency. This book contains descriptions of his times in training in the United States, and his role in the Battle of Mogadishu. Howard Wasdin grew up in Georgia and began his career in the Navy. Through a long time of rigorous training, Wasdin became a Seal, and soon worked to join Seal Team Six. The most interesting part of the book in my opinion was the Battle of Mogadishu, where Wasdin and other soldiers fought for each other’s lives as well as their own. I think anyone who is a fan of drama or military books would enjoy this. It is a great book that I highly enjoyed. |
