This is a fiction book by Lauren Conrad and is the second book in the L.A Candy series. This book takes place in Los Angeles, California where the reality show L.A Candy is taken place. The main character is Jane Roberts and she is also known as America's sweetheart in the book. Jane is a very friendly person and loves her friends. But what Jane doesn't know is that, not all her friends are going to be telling the truth. The book is titled Sweet Little Lies, as you may infer, there is many problems occurring in the book and many lies taking place. Jane Roberts is tricked by another girl on the show named Madison Parker. Madison claims to be Jane's best friend but she really intends to make Jane's life miserable. Because of the leaked photo problem in the first book, Madison decided to take Jane to her parents' condo in Mexico, where there is no cell phone reception or paparazzi. Jane stayed until after Christmas to take a break from all the trouble; while leaving her best friend Scarlett in a very worried position. Madison did this to supposedly help Jane get off the phone and get away from the tabloids. But she did this so Scarlett wouldn't tell Jane that Madison was the problem. When Jane gets back home her best friend Scarlett tries to reach out to her and tell her the truth about Madison but Jane did not believe the truth. Later on in this book Jane finally believes Scarlett, once again, and begs for forgiveness while trying to move on with out Madison in her life. When Jane is finally getting over things and having a peaceful life with out the drama, what do you know? Madison gets a job at the same place Jane works at with Fiona Chen, which makes it harder to film on the show and even harder for Jane to get work done. Obviously the creator of the show, Trevor Lord is loving this because he wants to get the two girls on the show fighting, so that the ratings of the show will increase. Trevor also broke a promise to Jane that insured that she will not have to film any parts with Madsion. I think this is a very interesting part in this book because right when Jane is feeling better, the problems kick in. I think this is more of a girl book, so many girls will be interested in this book for sure. Every sentence in this book just makes the book even more interesting and unique in its own way. Check it out!
