I like to mainly read a lot of realistic fiction and fictional novels, although I do not have a favorite genre.
The Schorch Trials, James Dashner- This is the sequel to the book "The Maze". Thomas and all of his friends that have escaped the maze have not yet escaped from WICKED. Together they must travel across what is left of America and help save the world from the infectious disease that is killing millions. Really great sequel!
The Summer I Turned Pretty, Jenny Han- 15 year old, Belly, has never been noticed by her long time crush, Collin. At least not until the summer that Belly turns pretty, and just about everybody happens to start noticing her. Pretty good book!
Along For the Ride, Sarah Dessen- Auden decides spends her summer before college with her father and step mother. She begins to find out who she really is and who she wants to be, as well as meeting Eli, her unexpected love. One of my favorite authors! Great read.
Envy: A Luxe Novel, Anna Godbersen- Penelope has finally blackmailed Henry into marrying her, aand Elizabeth is still tought to be dead. All is well in Upper Manhattan until Elizabeth come back from the "dead". Everything turns to chaos, and many secrets are revealed. Best series ever!
Splendor: A Luxe Novel, Anna Godbersen- Elizabeth is now a young wife soon expecting a child. Penelope is finally happily married to Henry, but begins to regret her decisions as her real prince charming, the Prince of Bavaria, comes to town. Very intriguing! Also a part of the best series ever!
Rules of Attraction, Simone Elkeles- Carlos never wanted to come to Calorado with his brother, and would much rather be back in Chicago with all his other gang members. But then, he meets Kiara. They have a competition of hatred going on between them, but could they actually be feeling the opposite? As Carlos and Kiara fall in love, he must keep Kiara safe, while trying to get rid of the people from his past. Definitively the best book on the face of this earth! Although, you must read the first one, Perfect Chemistry.
Before I Fall, Lauren Oliver- Sam Kingston dies tragically at the beginning of the book. But, she is given a chance to live that day over and over again until she lives it to the fullest. Sam realizes how cruel she has been to certain people and tries to fix it. She can only hope she has enough time left to do it! Also a very good book! It was written very well and had an interesting sequence.
Zeitoun, Dave Eggers- Zeitoun stays in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hits,
and faces many hardships. He struggles to stay alive, after being held in prison for false accusations. We read this book in class and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Vampire Diaries: Nightfall, L. J. Smith- Elena has come back to life after being killed as a vampire. But, this time, she comes back in a child-like state, and cannot speak or comprehend anything. She has also come back with some very interesting abilities and is irresistible towards vampires. Stefan, Elena's vampire boyfriend, will do anything to keep her safe. Another great series! I recommend this book if you like reading about vampires.
Vampire Diaries: Shadow souls, L. J. Smith- Stefan is trapped in the dark dimensions searching for a way to become human so he can be with Elena. But, Stefan is duped and forced to become imprisoned. Damon, Elena, and her friends must save him, but have to enter the dark dimensions as slaves. They struggle to reach Stefan as they encounter many troublesome situations, but will they make it in time? Read this amazing book and you can find out!
Vampire Diaries: Midnight, L. J. Smith- Damon has accidentally become a human and will do anything to become a vampire again, even if it means going back to the dark dimensions. Meanwhile, Elena's home town is being possessed by kitsune (crazy spirits) and must stop them before the whole town self destructs.
Something Like Fate, Susan Colasanti- Lani would to anything for her best friend, Erin, but when it comes to Jason (Erin's boyfriend), she is torn between friendship and true love. When Erin, finds out about them, she doesn't know if things will ever be the same between them, again. Can Lani fix what she and Erin once had, or is it gone forever? It was pretty good book. I enjoyed it!
Waiting For You, Susan Colasanti- Marisa can't wait for her sophomore year in high school, especially since she gets to see Derek, her long time crush. Her best friend Nash starts acting different and Marisa can't understand why! Maybe Nash is the boy she's been waiting for, not Derek..... A really cute book with a great ending!
Girl In the Arena, Lise Haines- Lyn has had seven new fathers, but she has never loved any father more than Tommy. When Tommy is killed in a gladiator fight, Lyn is devastated. But it gets even worse. She is then forced to marry the man who killed her father, or she must fight him to the death in the gladiator arena. After hundreds of hours of training, Lyn is ready to fight for her freedom. Really good book! It reminded me of Hunger games a bit.
Wake, Lisa McMann- Janie is not your average high school. Janie is sucked into other peoples' dreams and she can't do anything to stop it. When she meets Cabel, she is sucked into another haunting story about his complicated past and present. I loved this book! It was so cool and different!
Blood Magic, Tessa Gratton- Silla is devastated after her parents death, but she is hoping that the spell book her father left for her might give her some answers. Instead she is dragged into her father troublesome past and is forced to fix everything that went wrong with his magic. Yet another great book!
Derailed, Jon Ripslinger- Wendell has the perfect life. He is a star football player, he has a perfect girlfriend, and a job option at the quarry. But, when he meets Robin, a young single mom, he wants to help her with her past. Although it puts Wendell in danger, Robin helps him discover who he really is, and who he wants to be. It was a good book.
The Hunger Games, Susan Collins- When Prim, the sister of Katniss, is chosen to be in the Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to go for her, knowing that it meant death. Together, Katniss and her partner, Peeta, struggle to make it through the Hunger Games, barely making it out alive. Katniss and Peeta win the Hunger Games, but not without stirring up a rebellion. Best book I have ever read in my whole entire life!
Catching Fire, Susan Collins- Sequel to the Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta have gotten out of the Hunger Games alive, only to be sent right back in. To celebrate the 75th Hunger Games, all of the Hunger Games winners must compete against each other. But, before anybody can win, the tributes (participants) are pulled out of the arena to fight against the Capitol. This book totally outdid the first book!
Mocking Jay, Susan Collins- Katniss is the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol, but can they even win this war? Katniss must lead the rebels against the Capitol, and every fighter's life depends on her. Pretty good book, but not as good as the first and second book in the series.
Twisted, Sara Shepard- All of the pretty little liars though Allison was dead, but is she really? A is back and she knows about the terrible things they did in Jamaica. What will those pretty little liars have to do to keep their secret safe this time? Read this book to find out!
Shiver, Maggie Stiefvater- Grace has always had an obsession with the wolves in her backyard, but when she meets the love of her life, it just so happens that he is a werewolf. And, it is his last year to be able to shift into a human. Can they find a cure for him, or will Grace never get to see him in human form again? Thirteen Reasons Why, Jay Asher- Clay Jensen had heard about Hannah committing suicide, but he had never thought that he would have something to do with it. As Clay listens to the tapes that Hannah made before she killed herself, he realizes all of the things that went wrong, right in front of his eyes. Pretty Little Liars, Sara Shepard- Hannah, Spencer, Aria, and Emily have all shared their secrets with Alli, but they thought that their secrets had disappeared with her. That is until "A" starts threatening to tell all if they don't do exactly what she says. AMAZING!!!!! A very good book.
Flawless, Sara Shepard- The sequel to Pretty Little Liars. Alli is found dead in her backyard many years after she disappeared. So, who else could know all of these pretty little liars' secrets? "A" may be a LOT closer than they think. Every book in this series is amazing!
