I like to read all kinds of books. Genre does not matter to me as long as the book is good! The main genres that I read these two quarters were novels, biographies, non-fiction, and realistic fiction. Here are the books that I read:
Wither: Lauren DeStefano- By age sixteen, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. When Rhine is kidnapped and sold as a bride, she vows to do all she can to escape and find her way back to her brother. With only three years left of her life, finding a cure for the human race is more important than ever.
Looking For Alaska: John Green- Miles Halter, otherwise known as Pudge, has no idea what he has in store for him when he decides to attend Culver Creek Preparatory School. The moment he meets Alaska, he has fallen head over heels for her. The only problem is that she is not his to take. This book was very good overall.

If she fails in doing so, she be driven into madness. With the help of Zach, Lucy tries to fulfill the tasks that none of her ancestors have ever attempted before.

Still coming to terms with her loss, she revisits her most precious memories, about people that are gone, and people still around, getting ready to decide. If she stays. If she goes. I definitively would recommend this book to other!
Tree by Leaf: Cynthia Voigt- A few students read this book in class. It is about a young girl named Clothilde that is forced to grow up as a slave to her mother. Her father has returned from the war, but refuses to be seen because of his disfigured appearance, leaving the family without a father figure.

As Isabel and Sam try to find a cure for the change, both Grace and Cole have to learn to live as a wolf. All the while, Isabel's father and his hunting party are starting to successfully kill the wolves that live in the forest. Great book! If you haven't read the trilogy, I would highly recommend it!
Lovely Bones: Alice Sebold- Susie Salmon, a normal fourteen year old girl, is raped and killed by a neighbor with the name of George Harvey. Susie is quickly taken to her afterlife, were she watches over her family. Susie's family will not let this murderer go unpunished and are still determined to give George Harvey the revenge he deserves. This book is very intense and I simply could not put it down until the very last page. I loved it!
10 Things We Did and Probably Shouldn't Have: Sarah Mlynowski- April refuses to move away with her father, so she jumps at the chance to move in with her friend Vi. With no parents ever home, they are left responsible with themselves. Phoebe is the last hope for Mallory's Faerie world, but she can only be made as a sacrifice if she believes that she is truly ordinary. This book was O.K.
