Wereling by Steve Feasey:
The genre of this book, written by Steve Feasey, is a fantasy novel which i would wholeheartedly recommend to people who like mythology and the involvement of mythical creatures. Even though this book is all about mythology, it doesn't mean all mythical based books have a scenery that takes place in Greece. In fact through out the whole story the main setting takes place in Europe in modern day times. When the book finally breaks the over the horizon, the main character (Trey) wakes up to see his room in total ruins; his bed is torn in half, the window is clinging onto its last hinge, his brand new sneakers were torn out of its stitching, and his room smelled an awful animal stench. When his care taker saw the horrifying mess, he began to scream at Trey and he told him he was insane for messing up his own room. They began to argue about who did or didn't do it, but soon after his care taker decided that he wont live in the shelter and he would have to live on the streets. But before Treys butt was knocked out of the shelters vicinity, a strange man arrived at the shelter and arranged for the protection of Trey by saying he was his uncle and taking him into his car. When they arrived at the mans mansion, Trey was told that he wasn't his uncle, but his dads best friend, and also that he was a werewolf. Trey lived in the mansion not knowing if he should trust him... but soon later, Trey got mad and turned into a large Wereling, half man half wolf. Trey began to trust him and Lucien (the man in the mansion) began to tell him about his life and his parents. Soon later Lucien told Trey how his parents died and who killed them. He said that his brother Caliban murdered his mother and father because he wanted to rule the earth. He even told Trey that he was a vampire and also his brother. Trey became very angry, and asked Lucien if he could avenge his parents death. But Lucien just shook his head in worry. Trey begged him if he could and soon the set out with lots of weapons and the power with in them that helped them change their form. But before they set out, Lucien's daughter was captured be Caliban and held hostage, saying he will kill her if they came to fight him. Lucien started to back down, but Trey helped him and told him that they could get her back without getting hurt. When they left for Amsterdam (where Alexa was held hostage), armed with their guns they met Caliban and fought him with there shape shifting nether powers, that helped them kill him and get Alexa back. Lucien was hurt devastatingly but was in luck, because Alexa's mother who no longer lived with them had a power that can cure Lucien.
Trey- is brave, courageous, and smart
Alexa- is kind, clever, and curious (Trey's friend)
Lucien- is determined, softhearted and strong (Trey's friend and new care taker)
Tom- is fit and built tough (Lucien's friend)
My favorite part was reading the book, it was very descriptive and very hard to put down. I loved this book!
