To Kill a Mockingbird is a fictional book. The book takes place in a rural area and mainly takes place in the south of the United States. The time period of the book is 1932 to 1935. The main characters of the story are Jean Louise Finch nicknamed “Scout”, her father Atticus Finch and her brother Jeremy Atticus Finch, nicknamed “Jem” the son of Atticus. Some other characters are Calpurnia who is the Finch’s housekeeper, Miss Maudie who is the Finch's neighbor, and children's best friend among the adults of Maycomb, and Boo Radley who is a neighbor who lives by the Finch’s and never comes out. An interesting part of the book was when Jem, Scout, and Dill go to the Boo Radley’s house and try to run up and touch it but they are afraid of getting caught by the Radley family because they think the Radleys are crazy and will hurt them. They think this because the Radley’s never come out of their house and in the past supposedly Boo Radley stabbed his father. I think that anyone who is interested in Fiction and suspense books would be interested in reading this, and how life was in the south many years ago.
