Nicole Koleczek, pro equestrian. Now you’re probably wondering what equestrianism is, well it means horse riding. Don’t worry I thought it meant fishing in the open sea for bluegills too, it’s okay. Now let’s get down to business, Nicole does most of her equestrian adventures on mango. Now I don’t understand who would sit on a mango and make it walk around in a big circle, I always thought mangos were for eating but what Nicole does on her weekends is none of our business. Nicole jumped this mango 2”1.2957341 feet in the air. Wait, but before we go any farther, Nicole told me I had to mention that, “Nicole Kolcezek’s equestrianism is equivalent to a sixteen year old.” Now that’s out of the way let’s continuing on in this marvelous journey, Nicole also rides on marbles. I’m guessing she hot-glued all these marbles together so she can roll around on them. Nicole has jumped marbles a maximum height of 2”6 feet! Nicole has been riding horses since the age of three, this is one of the many reasons she is able to jump on a mango. Now “horses” isn’t all Nicole rides, she also has a passion for ponies. Not my little pony, mangos, or marbles, but real life ponies. Nicole’s favorite pony is named Sophie, yes Sophie. I thought spot or sparky would have been better non-human names but I guess Nicole doesn’t think so. Now how she obtained this pony is a very interesting story, Nicole was over at her friend Isabelle’s barn when she linked eyes with Sophie, and it was love at first sight. She quickly pushed Isabelle to the ground and jumped on Sophie. The high speed purist started there, Nicole rode away on Sophie, moving at a speed of 2.4 mph! She could hear the other police ponies not far behind but she kept at it. She burst through the front doors of her barn and quickly spray painted the pony a different color. By grand theft pony rules the police will no longer know that Nicole is on the same pony as before, therefore her four star wanted level when down to a zero, nearly escaping the police ponies. That is how Nicole obtained her favorite pony, Sophie. Now to get this skilled in sealing, jumping, and riding horses/ponies Nicole has one of the best trainers in town Alex Lee. Despite what horrible stories Nicole tells me about Alex Lee, how he was a horrible trainer, a weirdo, and deserved to “eat some lucky charms and fly away on a rainbow,” I refuse to believe them, with a name like Alex you know you’re getting far in life. Now, this essay isn’t going to be full of dead end jokes, horse riding is pretty serious, so let’s all take a while to become serious….. done yet? Oh okay sorry let’s take a little longer then….. okay, now sometimes horse riding gets freaky, when your horse makes the wrong turn, the wrong jolt, jumps too low, the smallest mistake could be deadly. When your staring death in the face, plummeting towards the wall, floor, or another rider that’s when you know it’s serious. In all Nicole’s years of riding she has stared death in the face a couple of times. Nicole has been thrown at the floor, wall, smashing her tailbone, head, face, arms, and legs, all for her passion, her life, riding horses. One of the scariest things Nicole has witnessed was two horses fighting, apparently one of the horses caught the other horse with his girlfriend, and they just went at it. Nicole has ridden many of the horses at her barn, but a horse she really wants to ride is Hoosier Gucci, or “who’s your Gucci”. Nicole also has an orange sattle pad under her bed, but I mean why would you need that there, are you going to ride a horse in your dreams and for some reason not have a sattle pad? This shall conclude my essay, so to sum it all up we have learned how long Nicole has been riding horses for, her favorite horses/ponies, how she obtained her pony, her trainer, the scary parts of horse riding, Hoosier Gucci, and how high Nicole can jump on her horses. *This essay was read to and approved by: Nicole Koleczek (double spacing looked weird on Weebly so I made it single spaced, also the magnifying glass joke didn't work on Weebly so i had to delete that too, but i included some pictures of the "horses" below.) To straighten things out here: Both of my schooling horses (one of them is a pony!) have capital letter names! Marbles and Mango. It’s not walking around in a big circle, either. It’s jumps and maneuvering while having to control over dozens of other things, like your emotions and physical state, while controlling a 1,200+ pound animal with a mind of its own. Intense. I ride more than just weekends! I jump Mango higher and more than Marbles, even though Marbles is 2 hh. taller than Mango (Marbles is 16 hh., which will be exactly 5 feet and 3 inches at the withers (neck) and Mango is only 14 hh.) I am capable of jumping higher than >3 feet! And yes, I challenge any 16 year old equestrian. Yes, I’ve been riding since I was only 3 and have an equal passion for horses and ponies. Sophie is no longer my schooling horse, I DID NOT steal her! My friend Isabelle received a new horse, Bonfire, and could no longer keep Sophie so she then became my schooling horse for 6 months until I had to move. Sophie is currently being leased, but I am able to visit her virtually whenever I please to. Alex Lee was a great trainer, especially rider! However, I dislike that he would force me to manually mount a horse rather than using a mounting block. (?) He wasn’t “bad”, he was simply strict. None of these accidents are true! I have been front flipped off a horse, landing on my tailbone and being tangled in reins beneath him, TWICE. I’ve learned from THAT mistake. I’ve also nearly knocked my ENTIRE set of teeth out when Sophie over jumped. My helmet has fallen off a couple times, too. If I ever die doing this sport then at least I know that I died happy, right? And that horse fight; I was actually MOUNTED. Terrible experience, too. Yes, I would LOVE to ride Hoosier Gucci. He is a beautiful, stunning, quick dapple with potential to jump ANYTHING. Yes, there is a saddle pad under my bed, it’s simply too big on Mango, and Marbles has a nice one, so what else should I do with it?! You forgot to mention my new horse coming in summer 2012! I’m able to change his name, so I would first like to select a show name which must be at least two words! I’ve been thinking Golden Oscar (Oscar)! Also, there were some errors, but well done! Thanks!
