Tom Ward, seventh son of a seventh son, starts work as an apprentice for the village spook, whose job is to protect ordinary folk from ghouls, boggarts, demons, dead/alive witches, and the Devil himself. This book will lure even the most reluctant readers and show them action, adventure, and horror. Tom Ward lives in a far different place where danger lies in every corner watching and waiting to strike the unwary. Tom's life before was tough as a farmer, but the moment he stepped into the shoes as an apprentice for the spook, it got much more tougher, for the dead never rest. My favorite part out of many is when Tom finds out the hard way(nearly crushed to death) that there is an invisible boggart who cooks, cleans, and defends the house. I recommend this book to teen and up, though mostly boys because it gets a bit gory at some parts.
As you may already know about the stories of Sleep Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel and how Prince Charming comes and saves the day. This book shows you a different story about how Prince Charming wasnt always charming. 4 princes Prince Duncan, Liam, Frederic, and Gustav are on a journey to stop an evil plot that could endanger their kingdoms. It takes back where kings and queens ruled the land fairly or not. These 4 princes must work together and overcome dangers or else their kingdom falls. This is packed with action, adventure, and comedy. I recommend this book to 6th to 8th grade. One favorite part is when the 4 princes are captured and brought before the Bandit King who is 10 years old and challages Prince Duncan to a dual. This is a great book for everybody to enjoy! Here are some great books i read over the quarter.
