Stealing Home The Story of Jackie Robinson is a biography, which is when someone talks about another person, and in this book Barry Denenberg is talking and give information of Jackie Robinson, the first black man to play a white sport. Jackie was born on a farm in Georgia on January 31, 1919. Jackie, at the age of six months his father left him and his family and told his wife he was going to visit his brother in Texas. From that point they haven’t heard from him. This book takes place in 1947 at Ebbets field as Jackie plays for the Brooklyn Dodgers. An interesting part in the story is when Jackie plays on offence in a rundown against the Chicago Cubs and SAFE! After that event he was named the most valuable player in the National league. I would recommend this book to someone who would like to know more about the early history of sports.
